It’s time for Friday 56! It’s a book meme hosted by Freda at Freda’s Voice. Be sure to visit her blog if you would like to participate.
From Freda’s Voice The Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader (If you have to improvise, that’s okay.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post in the Linky at Friday 56. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple!
Here’s my contribution:
From page 56:
there was a small part of Elodie that looked forward to Alistair’s weeks in New York. She missed him, of course, but it was restful in some way knowing that for six whole nights she could stay at her own place, in her own bed, with her own books and favorite teacup, without having to negotiate and explain herself.
I’ve said it before, but I’m such a sucker for a pretty book cover. And I think this is one of my favorites of the past year. And that excerpt! Who hasn’t felt that way on occasion?
Have any of you read this? If so, what did you you think? Is it as good as the cover promises? Let me know in the comments.
Happy reading and happy New Year.
Lovely cover and 56. Puts you right in her mood and you know it’s a good place to be, it has books!!!! 🙂 Happy weekend! I added you to the Linky.

I know I’ve felt like Elodie more than once in my life. 😬. Thanks for adding me to Linky, Freda. And happy new year to you!

I agree with the sentiment. This sounds like a good book. This week I am spotlighting The Paragon Hotel by Lyndsay Faye. Happy reading!

I do like the extract – Kate Morton is one of my mother’s favourite authors and one I need to catch up with. Thank you for sharing and I hope you continue to enjoy this one:)

I’ve read that her books are similar to Downton Abbey? At least some of her older books, I suppose. This seems to be more contemporary. Thanks for stopping by, Sara, and happy New Year.

Sadly, I haven’t read any of her books, though Mum has them all.
