It’s time for Friday 56! It’s a book meme hosted by Freda at Freda’s Voice. Be sure to visit her blog if you would like to participate!
From Freda’s Voice The Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that’s ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don’t spoil it)
*Post it.
*Add your (url) post in the Linky on Friday 56. Add the post url, not your blog url.
*It’s that simple!
Here’s my contribution:
It’s been a while since I read Jane Eyre, and I had forgotten how wry and funny she could be. Oh, Mr. Brocklehurst, what an ass you are.
Are you a fan of Jane Eyre? If so, what do you think of Mr. Brocklehurst? If you haven’t read this book, would you based on this excerpt? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to leave a link to your Friday 56 so I can visit your blog. Happy Friday, y’all!
Know I read this years ago but just do not remember it. Maybe I should go back and re-read.

I picked up this book up this morning and discovered that the illustration was drawn by Charlotte Bronte herself. Its called Ludlow Castle. Interesting, don’t you think? I didn’t know that she was an artist. But maybe that was a part of her training to become a governess.

Yes – wasn’t he a pompous plonker? It would be far funnier if he didn’t have so much power…

I’ve read this at least twice, but it’s time for a reread. It’s a great classic.

I should re-read this over my summer vacation. It’s been about 40 years since I first read it.
